A Few Common Myths of
Separation Anxiety

Myth 1: It's Your Fault

Fact:

Guardians do not “cause” Separation Anxiety in their dogs, as separation anxiety is a clinical panic disorder, not an obedience issue. You can think about SA much the way that you might consider an anxiety disorder in a human: completely out of their control and likely “caused” by a wide array of genetic, environmental, and unique factors, many of which are still unconfirmed today!

Myth 2: Dogs Outgrow Separation Anxiety

Fact:

The truth is that we all WISH that our young dogs with Separation Anxiety could simply grow out of it, but sadly, this isn’t the case for the vast majority of those dog’s suffering with this condition. In order to provide your best canine buddy with the most fulfilling quality of life possible, the best time to address your dog’s Separation Anxiety is as soon as you notice any of the signs noted above.

Myth 3: Crate Training Will Help

Fact:

While crates can make some dogs, both those with and without Separation Anxiety feel more secure, it can often add an additional element of stress and anxiety, exacerbating existing SA symptoms that your dog is already displaying! We’ll work with you and your dog to determine whether confinement is the right choice for your family’s personal healing journey.

2. Through remote observations while your dog is left alone, we’ll assess their behavior and provide you with a training plan with daily missions before our next remote observation.

3. Your entire family gets to enjoy a panic-free, happy life—both when together and apart!

Why Remote Training

Separation anxiety is a condition that inherently affects the dog in their home environment, often triggered by the absence of their guardian or people in general. This makes it uniquely suited for a remote training approach!

Here are some of the top reasons why remote training is the best option for addressing separation anxiety:

Home Is Where the Heart Is (and Usually Your Dog)

Dogs with Separation Anxiety often need help in their own home as that’s where they live and are most frequently left alone! Through using a remote training protocol, we can most accurately mimic the realistic absences that are vital to separation related behavior modification.

Flexibility To Fit Your Schedule

Remote training allows you to make time for training when you actually have it, creating the most streamlined, trackable, and “doable” version of your dog’s training plan.

You And Your Dog Deserve To Be Included

Whether you live in a bustling city, rural town, or somewhere in between, remote training ensures that you can access experts that fit your life-style, ethics, and needs no matter WHERE you are.
